Ecological Footprint Essay

1.  Go to the website:  myfootprint.org
2.  Go to the center of the homepage and click on “GO!” under the Ecological Footprint Quiz.

1. Follow the prompts and then answer the questions to the quiz.  You do not need to answer question #4 of the quiz. 
2. Print out your responses to the 27 questions. 
3. Print out your “Quiz Results.”

4.  Read the section on “What it Measures” under “About the Quiz.”

5.  Read the section on “Reduce Your Footprint” under “Take Action.”

6.  Write a 1 page essay (single spaced, 1” margins, 12 pt. Font) or 2 page essay (double-spaced, 1” margins, 12 pt. Font) and address each of the following:

1. What were the results of your ecological footprint?
2. How did you feel about the results of your ecological footprint?
3. Is your type of consumption/lifestyle sustainable?
4. What three things could you do to minimize your ecological footprint?
5. What is the Earth’s carrying capacity?  Explain your answer in detail.
6. What factors may influence the number of people Earth can support?
7. What is the solution to this growing problem?

7.  Attach Essay, Response to questions, and Quiz Results together.   Please turn in entire packet by October 17, 2011.
